What is the Purpose of Hot and Cold Therapy?

In the medical field, heat and cold therapy, as an ancient and effective means of treatment, is widely used in the treatment of various diseases and injuries. It uses temperature changes to affect the body’s blood circulation, nerve conduction and tissue metabolism to achieve pain relief, reduce inflammation, promote healing and other purposes. This paper will introduce the purpose of cold and heat therapy in detail, and briefly introduce a modern treatment equipment-cold and heat compression therapy machine.

The purpose of cold therapy

Reduce local congestion or bleeding: Cold therapy through a substance below the temperature of the human body, directly acting on the skin tissue, so that the epidermal blood vessels contraction, avoid capillary dilation and rupture, thereby improving vascular congestion and bleeding and other symptoms. This is especially effective for acute soft tissue injuries, nose bleeding and other conditions.

Reduce pain: Cold therapy can reduce the skin temperature, slow down the nerve conduction speed, reduce the transmission of painful nerve impulses, and thus reduce the sense of pain to a certain extent. It is often used for toothache, burn and other pain treatment.

Control the spread of inflammation: Cold therapy can slow blood flow, reduce cell metabolism and microbial activity, and help control the spread of inflammation. This is an important treatment for patients in the early stages of inflammation.

Hypothermia: Cold therapy lowers body temperature through direct contact with the skin, using physical effects such as conduction and evaporation. It is often used in the treatment of patients with high fever, heat stroke, etc., and can also be used for local or systemic cooling of patients with brain trauma and brain hypoxia to reduce brain cell metabolism and oxygen demand.

The purpose of heat therapy

Promote the dissipation of inflammation: Heat therapy acts on the skin tissue through heat higher than the skin surface temperature, so that the inflammatory exudate is quickly absorbed and dissipated, which is conducive to dissolving the necrotic tissue and promoting tissue repair.

Reduce pain: heat therapy can accelerate the absorption of pathogenic tissues and inflammatory exudates, relieve the stimulation and pressure of nerve endings, reduce the excitability of pain nerves, thereby reducing the sense of pain. It has a better relief effect on the pain caused by mild to moderate muscle soreness and arthritis.

Reduce deep tissue congestion: Heat therapy can speed up blood circulation, reduce blood viscosity, and cause blood vessels to dilate, thereby reducing the symptoms of deep tissue congestion.

Warm and comfortable: Heat therapy by heat action on the skin tissue, so that blood vessels in a state of dilation and accelerated blood circulation, increase blood volume, increase skin temperature, improve skin discomfort and cold feeling.

Introduction to hot and cold compression therapy machines

The hot and cold compression therapy machine is a modern medical equipment that combines the functions of cold compress and hot compress, as well as pressure technology. It is usually composed of two parts of the main engine and peripheral accessories, the main engine includes the refrigeration system, the temperature control system and the water circulation control system, the peripheral accessories include the thermal insulation hose and the special protection of the hydrofoil in each part.

This device provides a cold source or heat source through a semiconductor refrigeration system, cools or heats the water in the tank to the clinically required water temperature, and then outputs it to the water sac through the water circulation system. The water sac is in contact with the patient’s body and uses the water cycle to take away heat or provide heat to achieve local cooling or heating effect. At the same time, the device also has a pressurization function, which can promote blood circulation and lymphatic return through pressure, further accelerating the dissipation of inflammation and wound healing.

The cold and heat compression therapy machine has the advantages of simple operation, controllable temperature, adjustable pressure, etc., which is suitable for the treatment of various diseases and injuries. It can be used not only for the treatment of acute soft tissue injury, joint fracture before and after surgery, but also for the treatment of patients with degenerative osteoarthropathy, hemophilia acute joint swelling stage, etc. In addition, the device is also widely used in rehabilitation training, for patients with joint swelling pain, fever has a significant effect.

In short, heat and cold therapy, as a simple and effective means of treatment, plays an important role in the medical field. The cold and heat compression treatment machine, as a modern application equipment for cold and heat therapy, provides patients with more convenient and efficient treatment options.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOODYEAR WELT PROCESS?

The history of  Goodyear welt

Before the Industrial revolution, shoemaking craftsmen needed to use awls to taper holes and then sew the welts by hand, which is the hand welt process. In 1871, after the start of the second industrial revolution, a patent called "Goodyear Shoemaking Technology" was approved by the United States Patent Office. A brand-new sewing machine was invented that could replace manual work to remove soles and sew inner threads. The inventor was Charles Goodyear. Mr. Goodyear was an American inventor, known as the "Father of Rubber" for his invention of vulcanized rubber.

Charles Goodyear and Goodyear shoe machine

The process of the Goodyear welt

The process of the Goodyear welt is as follows: Firstly, paste a layer of canvas strips on the insole, so as to form a rib structure similar to manual slotting. And then use a machine to complete the sewing of the welt, upper and insole. It is worth noting that the Goodyear shoe machine only sews inner threads and has nothing to do with outer threads. As early as 1856, Lyman Reed Blake had invented the Rapid stitch machine, a machine that could sew outer stitches (Lyman Reed Blake was also the inventor of the Blake process). The emergence of the Goodyear shoe machine has greatly improved the production efficiency of shoes. Together with the upper sewing machine and the rapid stitch outer thread sewing machine, the shoemaking industry has been brought into the machine age, liberating manpower.

Now, we can draw a clear conclusion that the Goodyear welt is used to replace Hand welt, and it has been tied to the machine since its birth. Shoes with welts sewn by craftsmen can only be called “hand welt” , not Goodyear welt.

How Do You Test Body Armor?

In movies and video games, body armor makes you invulnerable, able to survive many shots without even slowing down. In real life, of course, things are much different: Body armor doesn’t repel bullets. Being shot — even with armor on — is a traumatic experience at best. When a bullet hits body armor, the tough layered fibers that make up the armor decelerate the bullet and spread out its force. The bullet’s effect on the armor, and the tissue beneath it, is still considerable, and can cause tearing of the skin, bruising, and even broken bones.

We- China Xinxing Guangzhou Imp&Exp Co., Ltd.  will introduce how to test the body armor.

China Bulletproof Body Armor

However, the amount of deformation must fall within certain limits or the armor will fail to live up to the standards co-authored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). The standards were developed with input from a wide variety of stakeholders and published by the NIJ. These standards require that the armor be tested by mounting it onto a block of clay with specific, well-understood properties. Researchers use clay that is only deformed by a specific amount when a 63.5 mm (2.5 inch) diameter steel sphere is dropped onto it from a height of 2 meters (6.56 feet). When the armor is tested, it must withstand 12 shots, six front and six back, and the deformations in the clay block behind it may be no deeper than 44 mm (1.73 inches).

Research at NIST has found that moisture from sweating, along with the folds that occur in the vests’ fibers from the officers wearing the armor, can cause certain types of fibers to weaken and fail. As a result, part of the current test method requires six samples of each type of armor to be tumbled in something like a commercial dryer with a controlled heat and humidity to simulate wear and tear before they are subjected to the live fire test.

NIJ Bulletproof Test

NIST worked with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to develop the first generation of these tests in the 1970s. Today, NIST partners with the NIJ, the research arm of the DOJ, to develop standards and Bulletproof body armor. The DOJ provides funding to police departments to buy vests that have been shown to be trustworthy by adhering to those standards and passing those tests. While we would hope that no officer should ever have their armor tested in the field, testing and standards for body armor reassures us that the armors they wear will perform for them when they need it most.

How Does A Reflective Strip Work?

As we can see traffice police everyday, they wear safety reflective vest when they work. Today, we want to explain everything you need to know about reflective tape, including the relevant regulations.

How Does A Reflective Vest Work?

Reflective safety vests help to protect traffic police and construction workers and make them more visible to others on the job site. These vests are typically made with bright, fluorescent colors and reflective materials that catch light and make workers stand out. While these vests are commonly used during nighttime construction work, they should also be worn in the daylight. Although the sun is able to provide natural light during the day, reflective vests can still offer added visibility and safety for construction workers. When working on a busy job site, it is important for workers to be easily visible to their peers and any passing vehicles or equipment. Reflective vests can help accomplish this even in daylight conditions. In this blog, we will discuss how the reflective vest works and the reflective tape work.
safety reflective vest

What is reflective tape and how does reflective tape work?

Reflective tape is an essential vehicle safety product. Also known as vehicle contour or conspicuity tape, it improves safety by making the edges of large vehicles more obvious to other road users, reducing the risk of accidents and their severity.

Retroreflective tape works by sending light directly back to its source, making it clearly visible, and is arranged so as to delineate the outline of the large object in question. Reflective tape can be air-celled or solid construction, with the latter proving the most durable, long-lasting option.

Reflective tape applications

High quality reflective tape has a multitude of uses. Whilst it is most commonly used for the delineation of HGVs, trailers, and emergency vehicles, it is also commonly applied to PPE to protect the safety of those working on highways and in other areas of low visibility.

Reflective tape can also be used by cyclists, motorbike riders, and other vulnerable road users to increase their visibility. Some people also choose to use reflective tape on parts of a property that might be hard to make out. For example, around gateways and driveways to make any obstacles more easily discernible in the dark.

How many parts does a bulletproof vest consist of?

Based on the previous introduction to bulletproof vests. I believe everyone has a certain understanding of the functions, appearance, and how to choose bulletproof vests.

Today we- China Xinxing Guangzhou Imp&Exp Co., Ltd. will introduce the components of bulletproof vests. Let everyone have a deeper understanding of bulletproof vests.

  1. Material.

As we know, There are currently only two types of bulletproof products - PE and aramid. Same to the bulletproof vest. The beginning of manufacturing bulletproof vests is to cut the outline of the vest on the woven fabric(UD fabric). Used to create bulletproof panels. It is usually cut according to the size of the protective area of the bulletproof vest.

Bulletproof product material

UD fabric(PE or Aramid). This fabric also we can sell.

2. Bulletproof panel

After cutting is completed. We will get many pieces of fabric cut according to the size of the bulletproof vest. At this point, we need to stack them all up. Like this:

PE bulletproof fabric

It is necessary to determine how many layers of fabric a panel needs based on the protection level and material composition. For example, If the PE UD fabric areal density is 160g/m2 so NIJ IIIA 9mm need 22 layers and NIJ IIIA.44 need 30 layers.

After all are neatly stacked. Putting on a coat will turn it into a bulletproof panel.Bulletproof panel

3. Put into the jacket.

The lining is completed. We need to put him in the coat. The jacket has become bulletproof due to the addition of the bulletproof panel. At this point, a bulletproof vest was born.

How many types of materials are there for bulletproof plates?

In our last blog post, we learned about the composition of bulletproof vests(How Many Parts Does A Bulletproof Vest Consist Of?

Today we- China Xinxing Guangzhou Imp&Exp Co., Ltd.  will introduce the types of bulletproof plates.

The bulletproof plate can be placed inside our bulletproof vest or tactical vest. To achieve a higher level of bulletproof performance.  Usually, bulletproof vests can only reach the bulletproof level of NIJ IIIA. Usually, bulletproof vests can only reach the bulletproof level of NIJ IIIA. Tactical vests are not even bulletproof.

And the bulletproof plate can reach NIJ III and NIJ IV. Then our bulletproof plates is placed behind the interlayer of the bulletproof vest or tactical vest. It will increase the bulletproof level.

Now let me introduce several commonly used materials for bulletproof plates.

  1. steel

Steel bulletproof panels have been in use since World War II and dominated the mainstream market for bulletproof inserts several decades ago.

This material is relatively heavy. Moreover, when the bullet hits the steel plate, the scattered fragments after the bullet shatters can easily cause secondary damage to the user. The advantage is that the price is very low.

But with the changing times. The emergence of other new materials has led to the gradual elimination of this material. But some countries still use it.

military bulletproof plates

2. PE(Supramolecular polyethylene)

We mentioned this material in our previous blog post. He is the main material for making bulletproof vests and helmets. It is also a material for making bulletproof plates.

Generally, pure PE can be used to grade NIJ IIIA.

NIJ III can also be made with pure PE. But the price will be more expensive than combining ceramics.  The advantage is that it is lighter than the material combined with PE and ceramics.

3. Combined with PE and ceramics.

This is the most commonly used material for bulletproof panels. Often used to make NIJ III and NIJ IV grade bulletproof plates.

Usually, ceramic materials include aluminum oxide and silicon carbide.  Both materials can meet bulletproof standards. And they are all combined with PE. Improving cost-effectiveness.

The price of alumina will be relatively cheap. Although silicon carbide is relatively expensive, its weight will be lighter.

The above is the general material of bulletproof plates. If you are interested in these products, please do not hesitate to contact us: mail@cxxgz.com
